چکیده

The enthalpy change for saturation of half the Fe(II1) binding sites was compared with the enthalpy change for saturation of the hall-saturated protein. In the presence of excess HCOBthese values were -10.90 f 0.19 Cal per mole of bound Fe(II1) and -10.43 f 0.76 Cal per mole of bound Fe(III), respectively. In the absence of HCOI-, corresponding values were -4.64 + 0.05 Cal per mole of bound Fe(II1) and -4.52 + 0.08 Cal per mole of bound Fe(III), respectively. These facts give support to the model of independent and equivalent Fe(II1) binding sites in apotransferrin but do not prove it. No calorimetric evidence was found for [Fe(III)NTA], dimer formation under conditions favorable to its presence. Comparison of time-dependent calorimetric curves indicates that the apotransferrin + Fe(III)NTA + HCO,reaction occurs in two steps. An instantaneous reaction occurs, followed by a slower reaction.

Modification of Polyvinyl Alcohol via Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization for Targeted Drug Delivery Applications

In current study,a hydrogel based on biocompatible polymerwas prepared. The functionalization of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)with epichlorohydrin(ECH) to produce epichlorohydrin-g-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA/ECH) as a suitable macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) reaction was investigated.ThenN-vinyl pyrrolidone (NVP) waspolymerized on the surface of macroinitiatorin presence of...

The effect of bicarbonate on iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn) uptakes by soybean varieties

Bicarbonate anion, has a very high concentration in the calcareous soil, and in fact, is the main cause of chlorosis in calcareous soils. This study was conducted to evaluate eight soybean cultivars with iron deficiency and bicarbonate presence. The present research was carried out with the aim of assessing the effect of irrigation with water containing bicarbonate on enzyme activities and Fe a...

Bicarbonate and the binding of iron to transferrin.

spectroscopy and by measurements of proton magnetic relaxation rates under conditions in which carbon dioxide (and therefore bicarbonate) is excluded. Even in the absence of bicarbonate, specific binding of Fe3+ to transferrin may occur. Nitrilotriacetate, ethylenediaminetetraacetate, and oxalate were found capable of replacing bicarbonate to form colored complexes with iron and transferrin. Si...

پاسخ پایه های ‘به’ (Cydonia oblonga Mill.)، گلابی و زالزالک به کمبود آهن

Iron (Fe) chlorosis is an important nutritional problem in quince trees. But, quince rootstocks differ in their tolerance to Fe deficiency in calcareous soils. Tolerance to Fe deficiency of seedling rootstocks of quince, pear and crataegus and clonal rootstock of quince A was evaluated by exposure to two levels of Fe (3 and 50 µM) in the presence or absence of 10 mM bicarbonate in soilless cult...
